Amsterdam, November 8th 2024–The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Brasília had the privilege of hosting a special session on Forest Crime Prevention and Indigenous Community Engagement in the Brazilian Amazon.
Dr. Tim Boekhout van Solinge, esteemed Dutch geographer-criminologist and expert researcher at the Strategic Knowledge Center of the Ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid.
Dr. Boekhout van Solinge holds a Ph.D. in criminology from Utrecht University and has focused his career on understanding the intersections between organized crime, illegal drug markets, and environmental destruction.
He is widely recognized for his groundbreaking research on the illicit logging industry and its connections to global organized crime networks. His work has provided key insights for policymakers and law enforcement agencies, helping shape effective strategies for combating both drug-related and forest crimes.
